- Oranges most likely originated in SW China or NW India
- Club Orange was the first orange fruit juice to come on the market
- It is the only Irish brand which competes successfully with the major multinational soft drinks
- It was released just prior to WW II and came back on the market in 1945
- In 1960 Club Lemon was introduced
- Ancient Romans believed oranges were brought across the med Herperides, by the daughter of Atlas, on her return journey from Africa in a shell!
- The "Club" in Club Orange comes from the Kildare Street Gentleman's Club who commissioned C&C to create an orange drink bearing the club's name -later abbreviated to "Club"
- Rock Shandy got its name from a group of swimmers from Blackrock (involving a former MD of C&C) whose favourite drink was a mix (shandy) of Club's Orange and Lemon drinks!
- Oranges were used by sailors to prevent scurvy!
- The orange's taste and aroma can differ, depending on which section of the tree they grew on!
- People in Nepal don't peel them.....they just eat them skin and all!
- In 2003 it was Club Orange and Cranberry and everyone loved it
